wheatsheaf interiors

Our craftsmen have been hand-building furniture
since 1988 when the Wheatsheaf Interiors
company was first established. It is our belief
that there can be no substitute for experience,
skill and traditional methods in the making of
bespoke upholstered furniture or the
re-upholstery of Antique or older furniture. Our
techniques have evolved and have been passed
down throughout the years to provide excellent
products and services at excellent, honest prices.

We do not compromise our furniture and skill by
using cheaper, lower quality materials. Modern
sofas are often made on cheaper frames, such as chipboard, plywood, or deal, with cheaper fillings, such as poleither foam and elasticated webs. A lesser degree of skill is often also required. This can cut the production time by as much as half but this unfortunately means that the sofa can also be half the quality, but not at half the price!

In these days of mass production and a throw-away mentality, we have found that people require individualism and the attention to detail, quality and choice that is not always found with larger concerns.

Being a small company, all of our sofas and chairs are individually made in our own workrooms and can take up to fifty hours to complete. Furniture is designed to our client's own requirements and can be tight or loose covered. We use only the finest Beechwood Frames, luxurious fabrics, and our skill and expertise which has been perfected over the years. In fact, we offer one of the largest ranges of fabrics and trimmings in Sussex. Most major fabric houses are represented: we have accounts with over fifty companies and a range of fabrics, trimmings, wallpapers and leathers from around the world. We will
also get any other make of fabric specified by our customers.
